Westchester resident and lawyer Angela Reddock was appointed as co-chair of the Transportation Committee of Los Angeles City Councilman Bill Rosendahl’s 11th District Empowerment Congress.

In her new volunteer appointment, Reddock hopes to work with local officials to lobby for state and federal funds for new transportation projects.

Reddock campaigned against Rosendahl in 2004 and 2005 for the 11th Council District seat.

“I have the utmost respect for Angela,” Rosendahl said. “She is a dedicated public servant, an extraordinary civic leader and a brilliant attorney. Angela is truly one of our city’s rising stars.”

“The importance of planning for increased traffic as a result of population growth can’t be overstated,” Reddock said. “We’re considering ways to put infrastructure and transportation alternatives in place to provide incentives for people to use public transportation.

“That means expanding our current rail system to fully connect with the Westside, creating more express bus lanes and building more bike paths,” she said.

Since 2002, Reddock has served on the Los Angeles City Transportation Commission.

She also serves on the Los Angeles County Local Government Services Commission and the State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology.

Last month, she celebrated the one-year anniversary of the establishment of the Reddock Law Group, a labor and employment firm that represents employers in litigation, workplace consulting and federal and state regulatory compliance.

Before opening her own office, she was a name partner in Collins, Mesereau, Reddock & Yu, where she managed the firm and headed its employment, business litigation and government relations practices.

Previously, she was associated with several other Los Angeles law firms and has been in practice for more than a decade.
