St. Joseph Center’s Santa Monica site was the location for a volunteer cleanup on behalf of Boost Mobile RockCorps, an organization that works on a national level to recruit youths to volunteer for social change.

Through Boost Mobile RockCorps, volunteers donate their time and effort to earn a ticket to a televised concert.

St. Joseph Center was chosen to be one of the Boost Mobile RockCorps’ Los Angeles partners and 15 young men and women spent Saturday, February 10th, cleaning, gardening and painting the St. Joseph Center Early Learning Center at Fourth Street and Ashland Avenue, Santa Monica.

The Early Learning Center, provides subsidized childcare and preschool to 32 low-income and formerly homeless children.

“The RockCorps project helped to make the Early Learning Center a safer and cleaner place for children to learn, grow and play,” said St. Joseph Center spokeswoman Siri Okamoto.
