A 20-year-old man was shot to death while he was standing in a parking lot in Del Rey Friday, May 16th, police said.
The man, identified as Guillermo S. Trinidad, was in the rear of a parking lot in the 4800 block of South Slauson Avenue, south of Braddock Drive in Del Rey at about 7:50 p.m., when a red pick-up truck drove up to him, a Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) spokesman said.
A male suspect then got out of the truck, walked up to Trinidad and allegedly fired several shots, striking him in the chest. The suspect then drove away in the truck and was last seen heading northbound in the alley toward Braddock Drive, police said.
Trinidad later died from his injuries, police said.
The suspect in the shooting is described only as a Hispanic man.
Police said the shooting appears to be gang-related.
