A 25-year-old man was found dead near the Venice Beach Boardwalk early Monday, March 10th, police said.

The man’s body was found partially buried in the sand in the 900 block of Ocean Front Walk, near Breeze Avenue at about 7 a.m., Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Pacific Detective Mike DePasquale said. A maintenance worker discovered the body and called police.

The man, who appeared to be a transient, was found with injuries, including bumps and bruises, DePasquale said, but police had neither determined the cause of death nor released the identity of the man at Argonaut press time.

Police believe foul play may have been involved and they are continuing to investigate the incident, he said, but they have not identified any suspects in the incident.

Anyone with additional information regarding this incident is asked to contact LAPD homicide detectives at (310) 482-6313.
