The 33rd Marina del Rey Boat Show is scheduled Thursday through Sunday, June 12th through 15th, at Burton Chace Park in the Marina.

The show will offer boating enthusiasts a selection of new and brokerage boats of various types and sizes, including luxurious mega-yachts, cruisers, fishing boats, trawlers, electric boats, sailboats, sport boats and pleasure craft, say organizers.

Most major Southern California dealers and many popular U.S. and international boat manufacturers will be represented at the show, they say.

Approximately 200 vessels will be displayed in the water on 2,000 feet of floating dock, with the latest 2008 and a number of remaining 2007 boats available to board and inspect. Previously-owned brokerage vessels represented by California’s top yacht brokers will also be on display. Shoreside gear, accessory and service exhibits, along with trailerable boats and inflatables from ten to 26 feet, will be on display as well.

The Marina del Rey show focuses more on pre-summer deals as opposed to the “over-the-top” fanfare some serious buyers associate with boat shows, said show organizer Duncan McIntosh.

“There are plenty of boat shows, but only a handful are in California’s most populated county,” McIntosh said. “More than 13 million people live in the region — the show is the last opportunity before summer to move up, down or sideways into another boat. That is exactly what the show is positioned to do.

“Marina del Rey is simply the best in-water site for a boat show in Los Angeles County. There are five waterfront hotels, and restaurants and a great history of boating.”

McIntosh organizes the Marina del Rey Show for the LAX Coastal Area Chamber of Commerce.

The boat show is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, June 12th and 13th; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 14th; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 15th.

Admission is $10 for adults and free for children 12 and under.
