in SuperBowl-A-Thon homeless benefit
More than 475 bowlers on teams representing various industries, businesses, social service agencies and local government across the Westside are expected to compete against each other in a community event in Santa Monica next month to raise funds for the homeless in the community. The 11th annual SuperBowl-A-Thon is scheduled from 1 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, February 2nd, at AMF Bay Shore Lanes, 324 Pico Blvd., Santa Monica.
A special mixer is scheduled for 4 p.m. for members of the hospitality community, followed by a 5:30 p.m. bowling session.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the Westside Shelter and Hunger Coalition to help provide direct emergency supplies and services for homeless and low-income men, women and families.
First Federal Bank of California is this year’s “Perfect Game” title sponsor for the fourth consecutive year, with “Strike” sponsors that include Fairmont Miramar Hotel, Santa Monica Convention & Visitors Bureau, and Santa Monica Police Officers’ Association.
“Spare” level sponsors include Big Blue Bus, Fremont Investment and Loan, Harding Larmore Mullen Jakle Kutcher & Kozal, LLP, The Lobster, Pacific Park and Santa Monica Place.
For over 20 years, Westside Shelter and Hunger Coalition — a project of Community Partners — has addressed the needs of the homeless and low-income population in the western part of Los Angeles County by coordinating programs, such as food and shelter, job counseling and health services, as well as providing education and advocacy.
The coalition brings together more than 30 organizations representing local human services, government agencies and faith-based programs committed to ending hunger and homelessness on the Westside.
