A 50-year-old man was shot to death in a Venice alley Monday night, December 8th, police said.

The man, who is described as a transient but has not been identified pending notification of next of kin, was in an alley behind the 1600 block of Lincoln Boulevard in Venice at about 7:40 p.m., when an unidentified suspect approached him, police said.

The suspect, described only as a man, allegedly shot the victim with a large caliber handgun and rode away on a bicycle northbound on Lincoln Boulevard toward Palms Boulevard, police said.

Police have not yet determined a motive for the shooting.

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect in connection to the fatal shooting.
