HomeAid’s Los Angeles/Ventura chapter hosted “A Hot August Night” at Playa Vista’s Concert Park Aug. 26, featuring a free concert and more than a dozen gourmet food trucks, in support of efforts to end homelessness.

Sponsored by the Playa Vista community, the event included some of Los Angeles’ most popular food trucks, a beer and wine garden, and live music from LL DJ and the Band.

All proceeds from the event will benefit HomeAid’s Los Angeles/Ventura chapter’s efforts to end “transitional homelessness,” which the group says most often impacts battered women and children and is an increasing problem among returning veterans.

HomeAid is a nonprofit corporation in which builders and their associates donate time, expertise, materials and other services to build and renovate facilities where the homeless can feel safe and begin to rebuild their lives.
