The second annual Santa Monica Airport Art Walk will start at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 29th.
Art studios, Santa Monica College (SMC) ceramics studio, Barker Hangar and the Ruskin Group Theatre, which are all based at the airport, will be open for the afternoon event.
Santa Monica’s Cultural Affairs Division and the Santa Monica Airport are sponsoring the art walk to showcase what they call a “hidden cultural resource.”
This is considered an opportunity for locals to see more than 60 artists’ current work and where they were created.
The airport also houses two galleries, Sherry Frumkin and Arena One, which will be open.
At the SMC ceramics studio, students will demonstrate their process from molding clay to baking and glazing to the final design.
Art Mentor Program students will also be on hand to display their work at the college facility and have a sale of their ceramic and glass works.
In addition to the various studios, the Ruskin Group Theatre will be available. The theater will perform highlights of its monthly show L.A. CafÈ Plays at 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.
The art walk will be along Airport Avenue between Walgrove Avenue and Bundy Drive.
Admission is free.
