Mystic Productions is presenting a limited engagement run of its multimedia dance production “Mystic” Thursday through Sunday, January 29th through February 1st at the Electric Lodge, 1416 Electric Ave., Venice.

With two performances scheduled each night at 7 and 9:30 p.m., “Mystic” explores the mystery of human origin, the evolution of consciousness, and galactic destiny through video art, modern dance, and live music featuring The Earth Harp in complete narrative form.

General admission tickets are $30 (presale tickets are required) and include entrance to The Hive’s Mystic Art Gallery reception beforehand and the GreenSector after-party at the same venue. Catered food and drinks will be available for purchase from Gemini Conscious CafÈ.

A limited number of $50 VIP tickets will be available, which include a free open bar as well as access to the Mystic Lounge.

“We really pushed the envelope with Rabbit in the Moon in terms of performance art,” said Brien Rullman, director of visual art. “Now ‘Mystic’ gives me a chance to explore the meaning and the narrative behind some of those innovative concepts.”

Mystic’s story is told through costumed dancers and aerialist characters supported by immersive five-screen synchronized video projection screens and strategically played song lyrics from artists such as Radiohead, Future Primitive, Adam Freeland, and Depeche Mode.

Bill Close, inventor of the Earth Harp, a featured component of the production added, “The Earth Harp transforms architectural environments into giant musical instruments that connect everyone with sympathetic resonance.

“The context of the Mystic show, the amazing dancers, and the intimate space of the Electric Lodge will create a truly mystical experience for all who are lucky enough to see it.”

The costume designs are by Morgan Olson and Jesse Clarkson, best known for their work on theatrical projects such as Cirque Berzerk and films such as Ironman.

The sets and decor are designed by GreenSector and provide an organic primitive, sci-fi, fantasy with a Stargate twist to the environment.

“Mystic” is written by producer Bill Palmer.

Mystic’s cast includes performers from Rabbit in the Moon, Cirque du Soleil, Lucent Dossier, Firegroove, Mixology, and Mass Ensemble.
