Broken interior pipes have caused extensive water damage to the Airport Marina Counseling Service (AMCS) Mental Health Clinic building at La Tijera and Airport Boulevards in Westchester, forcing a temporary closure of the facility until repairs can be completed, counseling service staff said.
The flooding occurred during the night of June 17th, and was discovered by personnel who arrived at the facility early in the morning on June 18th, Airport Marina Counseling Service executive director Kathleen O’Leary Lefferman said.
The clinic will be closed until the repairs are completed, she said.
“AMCS counselors and therapists are maintaining telephone contact with their clients and doing some off-site counseling,” O’Leary Lefferman said. “We want to reassure the community that we will re-open for business as soon as possible.”
O’Leary Lefferman praised Capt. Glen Zinc and the crew from Los Angeles Fire Department Station 5 in Westchester for their efforts in responding to the flooding incident.
