Two Los Angeles Airport Police Honor Guard officers took part in the annual National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial event in Washington, D.C. earlier this month to pay tribute to all officers killed in the line of duty, including Airport Police Officer Tommy Scott.

Honor Guard officers Thomas Dye and Kendra Williams participated in several activities held during memorial week, including guarding the Memorial Wall and a wreath-laying ceremony. Also in attendance at the officers memorial events were Airport Police employees Madeleine Flanagan and Peggy Doran, and Sgts. William Handley and Clint Beacom.

A photograph of Scott, who was the first Airport Police officer killed in the line of duty in 2005, was donated by Sgt. Robert Richardson and placed at the Memorial Wall during the ceremony.

Williams, Officer Michael Dear and Sgt. Joe Espitia represented Airport Police by riding in the Police Unity Tour, in which hundreds of law enforcement officers from throughout the U.S. ride bicycles more than 300 miles over four days into Washington, D.C., to honor all fallen officers.
