Santa Monica Police were called to the 500 block of Santa Monica Boulevard at 9:17 a.m. Wednesday, June 2nd, regarding an armed robbery that had just occurred.

When police arrived, they saw a suspect on foot in the 1300 block of Lincoln Boulevard.

The suspect attempted to flee the scene, but was apprehended and detained by officers.

A “field show,” in which a witness of the alleged robbery was brought before the suspect, was conducted and the witness positively identified the suspect, police alleged.

An undetermined amount of money was allegedly recovered on the suspect — who was identified by police as 38-year-old Robin Bradley Cook of Venice.

Cook was booked at Santa Monica Jail and charged with robbery.

Bail was set at $100,000.

Cook is currently on federal probation for a bank robbery he allegedly committed in Santa Monica in 1997, according to Santa Monica Police.
