Boating seminars for the public titled, “An Introduction to Boating,” are scheduled at the 33rd Annual Marina del Rey Boat Show Friday, June 13th and Saturday and Sunday, June 14th and 15th, at the Burton Chace Park Community Building, 13650 Mindanao Way, Marina del Rey.

The seminars are being sponsored by H&S Yacht Sales, Sea Magazine and The Log newspaper.

On Friday, June 13th at 6 p.m., an informational seminar is intended to answer many of the commonly asked questions about boating in Southern California, with representatives of the boating industry, local boat owners and yacht club members sharing their experiences.

The free one-hour presentation has been specifically tailored for those who have never owned a boat, event spokesman Don Franken said.

In addition, sailor, adventurer, photographer and storyteller Mike Harker, who recently completed a solo circumnavigation aboard the Hunter Wanderlust III sailboat, offers seminars at 4 p.m. Friday, June 13th; 5 p.m. Saturday, June 14th; and 3 p.m. Sunday, June 15th, at the boat show, also in the Burton Chace Park community building.
