Organizer Pam Stacey said that this year, more than ever, the local community has the opportunity to support a worthy cause and to share its good fortune. She asks that community members lend a hand for the Children’s Institute, Inc. and the children they protect by donating a toy or a book.

The toy drive is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, December 6th at Triangle Park on Waterview Street between Pershing Drive and Trask Avenue in Playa del Rey.

Any new, unwrapped, safe toy or book of any value brought to the park will be delivered to the Children’s Institute from the community of Playa del Rey. Books for young readers are especially appreciated.

Also welcome are toys, grocery store food certificates, grooming items and other gifts for mothers in the domestic violence program who need to know that someone cares are also accepted.

“Come celebrate the good fortune we share living in Playa del Rey, meet more neighbors, and spread some Christmas cheer in a year when it will be appreciated more than ever,” said Stacey.
