The Alliance for a Regional Solution to Airport Congestion (ARSAC) has endorsed Bill Rosendahl for the local Los Angeles City Council 11th District seat in the runoff election Tuesday, May 17th.

ARSAC was founded in 1995 as a nonpartisan coalition to promote a regional solution to Southern California air transportation needs and to oppose any expansion of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

The organization has a membership of several thousand in the 11th District and has filed a lawsuit challenging the recently approved LAX expansion plans.

ARSAC has called Los Angeles Councilwoman Cindy Miscikowski “the architect of the current LAX expansion plan.”

Rosendahl and his runoff opponent, Flora Gil Krisiloff, are seeking to succeed Miscikowski, who is barred from re-election because of term limits.

“Bill Rosendahl has a demonstrated record of leadership and an unquestioned commitment to fighting LAX expansion,” said Val Velasco, ARSAC president.

“Bill is the candidate we trust to ‘go regional'” on the region-wide aviation issue, she said.

ARSAC board member Pam Wiltz said she and her colleagues were impressed with Rosendahl’s “grasp of local issues and adamant opposition to LAX expansion.”
