Los Angeles police have arrested a man who allegedly shot a neighbor during an argument in a Westchester alley Tuesday night, January 6th.

The suspect was at a party at an apartment in the 7100 block of La Tijera Boulevard, near Thornburn Street at about 8:40 p.m., when he began arguing with the neighbor, a Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) spokeswoman said.

The verbal dispute continued to a rear alley of the complex, where the suspect allegedly fired two shots, striking the victim once in the chest, police said.

The victim, who is in his 30s, was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, police said. No other injuries were reported.

The suspect, described only as a black man approximately 30 years old, was taken into custody without incident, police said. The gun believed to be used in the shooting was recovered by police, the LAPD spokeswoman said.
