Local beaches suffered erosion damage but no boats were reported damaged or sunk in Marina del Rey due to the recent storms that pounded Southern California with rain, said Dusty Crane, a Los Angeles County Department of Beaches and Harbors spokeswoman.

“The Marina is pretty secure, but the beaches took a hit,” she said.

Northern beaches from Will Rogers Park to the Los Angeles County line had significant erosion, driftwood and debris as a result of the recent rainstorms, she said.

The County Beaches and Harbors Department is still trying to clean up debris from county-maintained beaches and recommends people stay out of the ocean water for 72 hours after the rain has stopped.
