Now Open: Native Foods Caf/, a chef-crafted vegan restaurant, has opened a new location at 2901 Ocean Park Blvd. in Santa Monica. It joins a Culver City location that has been in operation for over a year.

Now Open: Gratitude Restaurant, a collection of 100 percent organic vegan restaurants specializing in gourmet raw and cooked ingredients is now open, serving lunch and dinner in Venice at 512 Rose Ave., (424) 231-8000.

Now Open: LA Fitness has a new facility at the Playa del Oro complex, at Lincoln Boulevard and Manchester Avenue, Westchester.

Soon to Open: Tower 142 is slated to open by the end of the month, offering farm-to-table cuisine with seasonal menu options, on Culver Boulevard (formerly La Marina), in Playa del Rey.

Westchester Watch Works is holding its “Trade In, Trade Up” program through the end of September. When customers buy a new watch, whether the cost is $20 or $2,000, and then donate their old watch (working or not), Watch Works will offer 20 percent off the new watch purchase. Old watches will be refurbished and donated to one of two local charities.

Downtown Santa Monica will hold the fourth annual Fashion’s Night Out from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6. Stores throughout downtown will have special offers as part of the shopping event.

The Community Clinic of Yo San University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, 13315 W. Washington Blvd. in Mar Vista is opening a new Sunday Morning Healthy Aging Clinic Sunday, Sept. 9. The clinic will provide immediate and low cost acupuncture and nutritional counseling treatments for a variety of aging-related illnesses.

Plaza-Towers Obstetrics & Gynecology has opened its second location in Westchester at the Playa Del Oro at Lincoln Boulevard and Manchester Avenue.

J. Nichols restaurant, 4357 Glencoe Ave., near Marina del Rey has started a new weekend tradition, Sausage Sundays. From 5 p.m. until closing every Sunday night, Chef Roger Hayot will create a variety of sausage specialties in house – all for under $10.

Will Leather and Scotch & Soda (1340 Abbot Kinney Blvd.) clothing-related, will be opening within the month on Abbot Kinney in Venice.

And the award goes to…

Elizabeth Wilsonhoyles, director of guest services at the Huntley Santa Monica Beach hotel, has been awarded the first Thelma Parks Tourism Spirit Award by the Santa Monica Convention & Visitors Bureau. Wilsonhoyles has been a hotel employee for 47 years. The award was named after a longtime convention and visitors bureau travel counselor.
