The final of three Muscle Beach Venice bodybuilding and physique competitions of the summer season is set for Labor Day, Monday, September 5th, at the Venice Beach Recreation Center, 1800 Ocean Front Walk, Venice. Spectator admission is free.

Prejudging for the contest begins at 10 a.m. and the finals in each of the divisions get under way at 1 p.m. Divisions include men’s and women’s bodybuilding and a women’s physique category. Each bodybuilding category is divided into the male and female weight classes, lightweight, middleweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight.

Registration for the bodybuilders begins at 7:30 a.m.

In addition to the bounty of powerful pectorals, bulging biceps, massive quads and mammoth-sized muscles that will be showcased on stage, a ceremony will take place inducting three bodybuilding pioneers into the Muscle Beach Venice Bodybuilding Hall of Fame.

Honorees will include six-time Ms. Olympia winner Cory Everson, called the “Queen of Bodybuilding”; Larry Scott, who won the first Mr. Olympia competition in 1965 and repeated the feat the next year in 1966; and Millard Williamson, who won a Muscle Beach competition 50 years ago.

Muscle Beach Venice contests are also held each year on Memorial Day and July 4th.
