The LAX Coastal Area Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals group will host its second Heal the Bay Community Beach “Clean and Crawl” in Playa del Rey Saturday, March 26 to help clean the local beach while promoting local eateries in the community.
The group of participants plans to meet at 10 a.m. at Toes Beach in Playa del Rey, at the intersection of Culver Boulevard and Trolleyway. Volunteers will clean up the beach area for approximately 1 hours and will then embark upon the “crawl” portion of the afternoon, beginning at The Shack, 185 Culver Blvd.
Those interested will then proceed down Culver Boulevard to continue the “crawl” in support of chamber restaurants.
The Clean and Crawl event is open to the entire community and is sponsored by the Westchester Rotary Club.
Upon completion of the cleanup, all participants will receive a promotional Chamber/Westchester Rotary souvenir gift pack (while supplies last).
Event organizers note the event is also for awareness regarding the local oceanic ecosystem. Prior to the cleanup, a speaker from the Santa Monica-based environmental group Heal the Bay will give a brief presentation regarding the hazards of litter as well as efforts to keep the beaches clean.
