Chuang-I “Christopher” Lin was approved by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Tuesday, March 21st, to represent Supervisor Mike Antonovich’s Fifth Supervisorial District as a member of the Small Craft Harbor Commission.

Lin attended his first Small Craft Harbor Commission meeting Wednesday, April 12th, at the Burton Chace Park Community Building in Marina del Rey.

Lin is the chairman of Forte Resources, Inc., a real estate company specializing in affordable and tax credit projects.

He is also president and chairman of two other companies, Sonnycal Development Company and Uniworld Marketing. Sonnycal Development Company is a real estate development company specializing in market-rate residential units and industrial warehousing.

Uniworld Marketing is a venture company in China specializing in real estate development and other ventures such as telecom technology transfer and other related matters.

From 1981 to 2003, Lin was with General Bank as director of the board and committee chair in loans, audits and other banking-related functions.

Lin was also president and chairman from 1979 to 2000 of Myriad Capital, Inc., a federally-licensed small business investment company specializing in venture capital related to computer technology, real estate and financial industries.

Lin did technical research at TRW Systems and Energy Group in the mid-1970s in energy, environmental studies and government contracts essential to national security.

From 1971 to 1972, Lin performed research and taught at the University of Wisconsin in analytical chemistry, water pollution in the chemistry department, and advised graduate students conducting project research in pollution and analytical chemistry.

Lin’s educational background includes receiving a Ph.D. in physical chemistry as well as graduate teaching and research.

He received a master’s degree in nuclear and chemical engineering at the National Tsing Hua University, and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering at the Cheng Kung University.
