The Sepulveda Boulevard Improvement Project in Westchester has finally been completed.

Los Angeles City Councilman Bill Rosendahl, the Department of Public Works and the Department of Transportation will celebrate the widening, greening and general improvements of Sepulveda Boulevard at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 7th at the corner of 89th Street and Sepulveda in Westchester.

The project improvements to Sepulveda, a major transportation corridor through Westchester, include:

… Sidewalk and median installations;

… Tree plantings;

… Roadway, traffic storm drain and street lighting improvements; and

… Median landscaping.

The boulevard improvements will relieve traffic congestion by providing three full-time traffic lanes in each direction on Sepulveda, said a public works spokesperson. There are also right-turn pocket lanes at strategic locations and full-time parking spaces in the business district.

Parking for the ceremony is available at Ralphs parking lot, 8740 Sepulveda Blvd.
