The City of Santa Monica is seeking proposals from qualified applicants to develop, equip, operate and manage the restaurant and beach equipment rental concession at the new Annenberg Community Beach House at Santa Monica State Beach.
Currently under construction, the Annenberg Community Beach House at 415 Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) is expected to become a premiere recreation destination in Southern California upon its opening in early 2009, city officials said.
The project is revitalizing elements of the former Marion Davies Estate along with construction of new features such as a pool house and an event house.
The existing beach cafÈ, located next door to the Beach House at 445 Pacific Coast Highway, is also undergoing structural upgrades, including a new take-out window, as part of the project.
The concessions operation will be integral to the success of this public beach facility, city officials said.
Qualified applicants must have a minimum five years experience in the development, management and operation of a high-quality food service facility and the demonstrated financial capacity to fund required tenant improvements, equipment, supplies and operating costs.
Proposals will be accepted until 2 p.m. Monday, May 5th.
