The City of Santa Monica has scheduled a community open house Sunday, September 27th to allow the public to present preliminary ideas and give input on the plan for new beach restroom facilities.

The meeting is scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. at Beach Green, 2400 Barnard Way, north of Ocean Park Boulevard near the bike path.

The city is planning to replace eight of its beach restroom facilities to help improve the beach experience for the millions of annual visitors. The open house meeting will ask the public if the facilities are meeting visitor needs and to consider additional features.

The city’s project team is working with Roesling Nakamura Terada Architects, Inc. to design a network of beach restroom facilities that will become visitor-serving rest stops along the popular beach bike path.

Fee-based parking is available in Beach Lot 4S (enter at 2030 Barnard Way), or at meters along Barnard Way.
