CityTV of Santa Monica has received four nominations for the 2010 Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards, including excellence in the categories of Public Service Announcements (PSAs) and public, municipal and operator produced cable.
The eco-friendly program “Be Green,” the station’s public service announcement videos “Kids Finance PSA” and “Westside Food Bank,” and a PSA called “LA County Foster Care: Share Your Heart” all earned nomination for the award, which will be announced at a ceremony on July 31 in North Hollywood.
Two of the public service announcements, “Share Your Heart” and “Westside Food Bank,” are projects of the Women in Film PSA Production Program in which volunteer Women in Film members produced, directed and wrote the PSAs. This is the second year for the program partnership and also the second year that the partnership has received Emmy nominations.
CityTV of Santa Monica is the government community cable channel for Santa Monica. Available on cable channel 16, CityTV is funded, programmed and operated by the city of Santa Monica and reaches approximately 24,000 households.
