CityTV of Santa Monica captured its 11th Emmy at the 2011 Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards last month.
For the second year in a row, CityTV won in the Public Service Announcement (PSA) category with its Toy Loan Program PSA, which was produced in association with the L.A. County Channel.
The PSA was produced as part of the Women in Film Public Service Announcement Production Program. A CityTV spokesperson said this was the third year for the program partnership, and its first Emmy Award win.
CityTV, the government community cable channel for the city of Santa Monica, has previously won several L.A.-area Emmy awards.
“CityTV is delighted to have its 11th Emmy win and its first win for the Women in Film PSA Production Program,” said CityTV Station Manager Robin Gee. “The programs provides non-profits with powerful PSAs to help raise public awareness of their cause, and also aspiring women directors, producers and writers the opportunity to expand their skill set while giving back to the community.”
The Toy Loan Program PSA was produced by Emily Butali, Gee, and Al Johnson. It can be viewed at www.citytv.org.
