The Jeanine Horowitz Education & Literacy Foundation will present a free community literacy program that will include a reading by city officials from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, December 5th at Koo Koo Roo, 2002 Wilshire Blvd., Santa Monica.
The community literacy program, an out-of-school reading program, will also include local firefighters teaching children about fire safety and prevention, fire engines, live puppet shows, face painting, balloons, special mascot appearances, and toys for children.
Jeanine Horowitz Education & Literacy Foundation volunteers partnered with Koo Koo Roo restaurants and received support from Party City for the program. The nonprofit foundation is dedicated to promoting education and literacy.
The community literacy program in Los Angeles County locations will involve 57 schools throughout the county, local city officials and firefighters and foundation staff.
