The Exposition Construction Authority has scheduled a community meeting in Santa Monica Wednesday, October 14th to provide an update on the final environmental impact report (EIR) for Phase 2 of the Expo Line project.

The public is invited to attend the meeting, held in the East Wing Meeting Room of the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, 1855 Main St., Santa Monica. The meeting will begin with an open house at 6 p.m., followed by a progress update presentation from 6:30 to 7 p.m. and a question and answer session from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

In early 2007, the Exposition Construction Authority began the Phase 2 study to extend Phase 1 of the light rail line from the current planned terminus at Venice/Robertson in Culver City to Santa Monica. The authority has held numerous community and stakeholder meetings with neighborhood associations, chambers of commerce, elected officials and businesses to discuss project alternatives and to receive public input.

The draft EIR was released in January and the final EIR, currently being developed, will be completed by the end of the year.
