The city of Santa Monica will celebrate the 29th Annual National Night Out from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7 at the Civic Center parking lot, 1855 Main St.
The event, which involves over 15,325 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases around the world, is intended to help strengthen neighborhood and police community partnerships, police said.
National Night Out is also an opportunity to recognize the relationship between the Santa Monica Police Department and community, police said. The event is designed to generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime efforts.
Along with showcasing department personnel and equipment, the event will feature bicycle vendors, Safe Kids, driving demonstrations, a large inflatable fire engine slide, rock climbing wall, carnival games, food trucks and more.
Free food and drinks will also be offered and free parking is available in the Civic Center parking structure located directly across the street from the Public Safety Building.
