The City of Santa Monica’s Urban Forest Task Force will hold a community workshop Saturday, May 15th to take input from the public on the city’s long range urban forest master plan.
The meeting is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Santa Monica Main Library, 601 Santa Monica Blvd.
The workshop will include presentations on the state of the urban forest and the process of selecting the right tree for the right location.
Attendees participating in the workshop will have the chance to discuss street tree planting concepts and future objectives. Public input is encouraged in the form of surveys and tree theme selection preferences. The survey can be taken by visiting the following Web site:
Another public workshop on the urban forest master plan is scheduled from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, June 6th in the main library.
