The parking lot at Washington Boulevard in Venice Beach will be under construction on weekdays through May 28 for the installation of a new underground storm drainage and infiltration system.

According to the county Department of Public Works, the project will comply with current county and state Low Impact Development (LID) requirements to capture, filter, and contain storm runoff close to the source of rainfall to contribute to water quality protection.

As part of the project, the entire surface of the parking lot will be re-paved and re-striped.

Half of the parking lot will remain open during construction while the other half is being worked on. Construction will take place from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. No work will be done on weekends or holidays.
