Rick Mogil has been appointed store manager of the Santa Monica Convention & Visitors Bureau Visitor Center.
Mogil will be responsible for development and maintenance of the bureau’s retail shop.
His duties involve sales, customer service, merchandise design, training travel counselors, expense and payroll plans, and building and maintaining working relationships with customers and suppliers.
“I believe hands-on, proactive management will help achieve higher sales and greater awareness of the Santa Monica brand,” Mogil said.
Prior to coming to Santa Monica, Mogil had more than 11 years of retail management work experience.
Most recently, he was branch manager of Scholastic Book Fairs in Oxnard. Before that, he was store manager of the Woodland Hills Barnes and Noble from 1994 to 2001.
He currently resides in Studio City. He attended Los Angeles Valley College, from which he has a diploma in liberal arts.
He volunteers as a co-facilitator of Survivors After Suicide for bereavement groups dealing with suicides.
