The Coprario Consort will perform its signature repertoire from colonial-era Mexico in a program entitled ìReverence and Revelry,î at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 28th at the Social and Public Art and Resource Center (SPARC), 685 Venice Blvd., Venice.

The ensemble is led by Dr. Kevin Cooper, a classical and baroque guitarist from Los Angeles who was honored as the University of Southern California Thornton School of Musicís outstanding graduate in 2006.

He maintains an active performing schedule, with recent appearances at the Eastman School of Music, the Long Beach Bach Festival, the Accademia díAmore Baroque Opera Festival in Seattle, and the Universidad Veracruzana in Xalapa, Mexico.

The experience of the Coprario Consort blends compelling music and socially conscious art with elegant poetry, according to Cooper.

Performers include Cooper on guitars; Catherine Cooper and Marcel Pan, mezzo-sopranos; Jose Gurria on percussion; Jungin Yang on the baroque cello; and Anne Rardin, playing the baroque violin.
