The Ruskin Group Theatre in Santa Monica will present Cyrano de Bergerac, a classic story of romance and adventure, beginning Saturday, Dec. 4 through Jan. 23.
Performances are scheduled at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sundays at the Ruskin Group Theatre, 3000 Airport Ave., Santa Monica. No shows will be held Dec. 20 through Jan. 7.
Written by Edmond Rostand, Cyrano de Bergerac is an adventure based on the legend of 17th century French dramatist and duelist Savinien de Bergerac, now known the world over as Cyrano. Afflicted with an enormous and bulbous nose, he is convinced that no woman can ever love him, and thus makes himself notorious in Paris for his courage, gallantry, and charm of verse.
Putting aside his own love for the beautiful Roxanne, Cyrano offers his powers of expression to his rival, as this adventure unfolds.
The show is directed by Rae Allen, a Tony Award winner and a two-time Tony Award nominee.
Michael Myers, who has produced more than 50 projects since 2002, is the producer.
Tickets are $25, or $20 for students, seniors, and guild members and can be purchased in advance by calling (310) 397-3244. Free parking is available at the theater.
