“Vaude,” a performance merging various dance forms reminiscent of the 1920s vaudeville era, will be presented by the Hart Pulse Dance Company Friday through Sunday, February 12th through 14th at the Miles Memorial Playhouse in Santa Monica.

The show features vaudevillian dance forms including modern, tap, contemporary, film noir and jazz. Performances are scheduled at 8 p.m. February 12th and 13th and 6 p.m. February 14th at Miles Memorial Playhouse, 1130 Lincoln Blvd., Santa Monica.

“Vaude” is the latest creation of the Hart Pulse Dance Company, a Los Angeles-based contemporary dance company that began its annual MixMatch Dance Festival a few years ago.

Guest choreographers Samantha Giron and Rachel Pace are presenting the works alongside Amanda Hart, Sophie Olson and Holly Fletcher of the Hart Pulse Dance Company.

Dances will be performed by company members Fletcher, Olson, Robyn Cohen, Jodie Mashburn, Rob Westin, Lauren Rodriguez, Kim Thompson, Linley Mayer, Amy Highfill and Max Onofrio.

Event organizers say that Valentine’s Day weekend is the perfect time to present the vaudevillian dance performance, which mixes masculine, feminine and dark humor and choreography to music.

The donation bar will be serving drinks during intermission.

This is the fist performance that Hart Pulse Dance Company will be holding in the city of Santa Monica. Past performances of their 100-plus dances have been held at several other Los Angeles area venues, including the Electric Lodge in Venice.

Tickets are $17 and can be purchased at www.hartpulsedance.com/, or by calling (661) 755-2182.
