The Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Monica has scheduled its 34th Annual Dinner, Auction and Raffle, the club’s largest fundraising event, Friday, November 13th at the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel.
Proceeds from the event will support the various club locations throughout Santa Monica and programs serving approximately 7,000 local youths ages seven to 18. Members come from all over Los Angeles County, largely from Santa Monica, Venice, West Los Angeles and Inglewood. They pay a $10 annual fee for access to all club amenities and programs that span across education, leadership, recreation and more.
Founded in 1944, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Monica offers a positive alternative to the streets and unsupervised homes for young people in the community, club officials say.
As part of the annual dinner, the club will be honoring CEO Allan Young as he enters retirement in early 2010.
The event begins at 5:30 p.m. and includes cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, dinner, raffle, live auction and awards ceremony. Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel is at 1700 Ocean Ave., Santa Monica. Tickets cost $250.
