Andrew Thomas has stepped down as director of operations after 10 years of service with Downtown Santa Monica, Inc. (DTSM), formerly the Bayside District Corporation.

Thomas will be assuming the new role of executive director of the Westwood Village Improvement Association.

As director of operations for Downtown Santa Monica, Thomas was responsible for creating and implementing both the Ambassador Program and the organization’s Enhanced Maintenance Program.

The Ambassador Program focuses on providing information and directions to visitors, as well as offering escort services to employees. The Enhanced Maintenance Program was designed to ensure a clean environment throughout all of Downtown Santa Monica’s parking structures, alleyways and sidewalks.

“Andrew’s work will leave a lasting impression on Downtown Santa Monica. He has built strong relationships here, which is a key element of his success,” said Kathleen Rawson, CEO of Downtown Santa Monica Inc.

“Andrew put the right people in the right positions and followed through on the delivery of services. I am delighted he has the opportunity to run his own program. Westwood is fortunate to have him.”

Thomas’ resignation will be effective July 29. A successor has not yet been named.
