The annual Discover Marina del Rey Day returns from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, October 12th, at Burton Chace Park, 13650 Mindanao Way, Marina del Rey.

This fun-filled event has plenty of varied activities and information for the entire family.

The Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation will be present to offer arts and crafts workshops and to promote healthy living and eating. Other local government agencies, as well as various businesses, will have booths offering vital information on health, safety and the environment.

Live entertainment will include the AC Timba Jazz Project, performing Latin Jazz, sponsored by the Los Angeles County Arts Commission. The Bob Baker Marionettes perform shows throughout the day; and the Venice High School choral group, the Allegros, will turn in a performance as well.

The W.A.T.E.R. Youth Program will also offer leisure kayaking in the main channel from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for visitors ages six and up. An adult must accompany children under the age of ten and good swimming skills are strongly recommended.

The purchase of a $5 wristband entitles visitors to catch the excitement of inflatables, rides, games, snack carts, and a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch.

Parking is available in County Lot 4 for $5.
