The Marina del Rey north entrance channel dredging project is still active, with an expected completion date near the end of March, the Marina del Rey harbormaster said.

Although the north entrance channel to the Marina may seem clear at times, it is still closed due to dredging operations, he said, and all vessels are reminded to stay clear of the north entrance until the completion for the project.

The dredge is currently removing sand from the north side of the north jetty, with frequent barge loads of sand being towed away, causing a navigational hazard to all boating traffic near the north entrance.

The dredge will work back around the tip of the north jetty and into the harbor towards the end of the project for final touches, he said.
