EEEEEATSCON comes to Santa Monica’s Barker Hangar
Take a bite out of the Eastside at Barker Hangar on Saturday when restaurant review website The Infatuation assembles a smorgasbord of food options for its annual EEEEEATSCON food festival.
Eastside imports include Fuku, or fried chicken sandwiches from the creative mind of David Chang, whose DTLA north Majordomo is setting the food world abuzz; beet spaghetti from lunch-only downtown spot Cento Pasta Bar; dim sum from the San Gabriel Valley’s celebrated Lunasia Dim Sum House; and Porto’s ever-delicious guava and cheese pastries.
There’s plenty of Westside love on the menu, too, with a bunch of local eateries gathered together, so you don’t have to get into your car to hit them all up.
Venice’s beloved Baby Blues BBQ is teaming up with the kitchen of Pharrell Williams’ father (yes, that Pharrell) to cook up some once-in-a-lifetime, finger-lickin’ good BBQ. The Rose Café is reppin’ Venice with its mushroom and quinoa burger. Culver City’s Locqui is serving up tacos on their heavenly tortillas. And you might actually be able to grab a bite from Lincoln Boulevard’s ever-packed Night + Market, which is serving up samples from its Thai menu that’s so good it almost has a cult-like following. There’s also the perpetually on the move NoMad Truck, a bicoastal outfit that has won the hearts of L.A. eaters on both sides of the 405 with its chicken truffle burger and soft serve ice cream.
You can also top your day off with scoops from Santa Monica’s Sweet Rose Creamery, or Smitten Ice Cream, whose first SoCal stand is located in El Segundo. Live music and talks by industry leaders round out the day.
