Several dance artists from the SB-ADaPT Festival will give performances for the local community in an event at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 25 at the Electric Lodge, 1416 Electric Ave., Venice.
The SonneBlauma Danscz Theatre is hosting its firstSB-ADaPT, a “dance and physical theater festival with a conference component that celebrates the movement arts and welcomes emerging genres, event promoters said.
The festival began in Santa Barbara June 8 and features an event in Venice June 25.
California artists from Santa Barbara, the Los Angeles region and San Francisco are taking part in the festival along with artists from across the United States. International artists from Slovenia, Austria, Turkey and Israel are also participating.
The following festival artists will be sharing work in an intimate studio showing at the Electric Lodge: IGEN, an award-winning Slovenian contemporary dance company; Simya SANAT, a performing company from Istanbul, Turkey; the SonneBlauma Danscz Theatre of Santa Barbara; Rubans Rouge Dance of Los Angeles; and Los Angeles performers Melanie A. King, Natalie Metzger and the Astra Dance Company.
There is a $10 suggested donation for the show at the Electric Lodge.
