The Senior Arts Foundation and the City of Santa Monica are scheduled to present the second in the Senior Arts and Community Forum series, “Enjoy the Arts without Going Broke!” at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, January 17th, at the Santa Monica Public Library Martin Luther King, Jr. Auditorium, 601 Santa Monica Blvd.
The program offers information on how to get discounted tickets, admissions, and group travel deals to a variety of Los Angeles area arts and cultural events.
Representatives from L.A. Stage Alliance, Gold Star Events, the Big Blue Bus and other agencies will talk about how to get the “biggest bang for your buck” at Southern California’s premiere art and performing arts destinations, according to the library.
The Senior Arts and Community Forum series is sponsored by the City of Santa Monica’s Cultural Affairs Division and Human Services Division; the Santa Monica Public Library; and the Senior Arts Foundation, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to making the arts more accessible to the senior community. The series is also endorsed by Santa Monica College’s Emeritus College. Future Senior and Community Arts Forum topics will include exploring issues in the preservation of art and culture and creating a second career in the arts.
“Enjoy the Arts without Going Broke!” is free and open to the public. Seating is available on a first come, first served basis. Parking is available in the Main Library’s subterranean parking garage, surface parking lot, and at meters on the surrounding streets.
