She was 64 years old.
“She was a project engineering manager, well respected and loved by those who worked with her at Leap Frog, Mattel, and Applause,” said Cindy Sanchez Mattson, a daughter-in-law. “She spent a great deal of time with her job in Hong Kong over the past few years, a city she loved dearly, and touched many people’s lives there as well.”
“She had a passion for life, world traveling, sailing, and most of all, her grandchildren,” she recounts.
Barbara Mattson was actively involved as a member of the Santa Monica-Windjammers Yacht Club before moving to Northern California five years ago.
She is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Mattson Casey; son, Paul Mattson; grandchildren, Griffin and Gabriel Mattson Casey and Christina and Melani Mattson; a son-in-law, Roy Casey, daughter-in-law, Cindy Sanchez Mattson; sisters, Sue, Kathy, and Edie May; and brothers, Roger and Dennis.
Private services will be held in Marina del Rey.
