Santa Monica police arrested an alleged ex-felon who had a gun after shots were reportedly fired in the Pico Neighborhood of Santa Monica Friday, July 14th, police said.

Timothy Mansion, 25, of Santa Monica was arrested after officers assigned to the Pico Neighborhood Task Force/Operation Safe Streets found him allegedly possessing a gun in the 2000 block of 20th Street, police said.

Officers had been called to the area regarding a report of shots fired.

The incident was the latest in a series of reported gunshots and shootings in the Pico Neighborhood this month.

A follow-up investigation of the July 14th incident was conducted and the case was presented to the county District Attorney’s Office.

The district attorney charged Mansion with being an ex-felon with a firearm “with a gang enhancement,” police said.
