California based international visual artist Vibul Wonprasat will exhibit works that he says will later be displayed at the Louvre in Paris at an event at the Electric Lodge in Venice.
The special exhibit is scheduled from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16 at the Electric Lodge, 1416 Electric Ave., Venice. Proceeds from the event will benefit two local nonprofit organizations, the Thai Community Arts and Cultural Center and the Children’s Art Village.
In order to celebrate the Paris show, Wonprasat is presenting the one night exhibition with food, drink and a cocktail reception.
New works of art will be on display and new limited edition giclee reproductions will be available as well.
Wonprasat is an artist who travels the world teaching and lecturing and he has become one of Thailand’s most successful visual artists in history, a spokesperson at Electric Lodge says. Exhibiting in the Louvre will soon be a lifelong dream finally realized for Wonprasat.
At his second Paris show in the last year, the artist will be displaying new works of art on Dec. 16. The show is titled, “Solon 2010 of the Societe Nationale des Beaux Arts, Carrousel du Louvre.”
The artist has planned many exhibits for next year in many different countries.
