The Buying and Selling of Memories, an exhibition documenting a two-month journey through the Middle East, will be presented at Alt|Space at Top Tomato gallery in Mar Vista.

An opening reception for the exhibit is scheduled from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11 at Alt|Space at Top Tomato, 3815 Grand View Blvd., Mar Vista.

The exhibition focuses on a documented two-month journey taken by Delia Cabral and Mark Blatchford through Morocco, Egypt, Jordan and Syria.

The Buying and Selling of Memories features photography, journal entries, sketches, jewelry, spices, and items collected along the road. It is described as a personal journey for two people into the land of the Bedouins of Petra and Palmyra, the Berbers of the Atlas Mountains and the Nubians of Aswan on the river Nile.

“The exhibition is a sensory travel log – visual, tactile, aural and olfactory,” a gallery spokesperson says.

The gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays.
