The G2 Gallery in Venice is presenting Nature LA: Ted Yeager, an exhibit of black and white photographs by Yeager focusing on the forms, tones, and textures of the natural world, through Sunday, Jan. 30.

An opening reception for Nature LA: Ted Yeager will take place Friday, Jan. 7 and will coincide with the First Friday event on Abbot Kinney Boulevard.

Growing up in the Midwest, Yeager said he spent a good deal of time outdoors, coming to appreciate his visual surroundings at an early age – drawing, then painting, and eventually photographing the natural world.

While in college, Yeager studied graphic design and said he sought escape in the darkroom, where he was introduced to large-format photography, platinum printing and color work.

He notes that his love, however, is black and white photography, which he values for tradition, utilizing film and medium and large format cameras. After college, Yeager moved westward to Southern California, where he works as a graphic designer and creates photographic images.

Established in March 2008, the G2 Gallery is described as a green art space with a dedicated focus on contemporary nature and wildlife photography. The G2 Gallery is at 1503 Abbot Kinney Blvd., Venice.
