More than 160 emerging fashion designers from throughout the U.S. will display their designs at Fashion Co-Op LA, to be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 3rd, at the Santa Monica Civic Center, 1855 Main St., Santa Monica.

Admission is $3 with advance reservations and $5 at the door.

The co-op is owned and operated by Kimberly Tominaga, a former fashion designer.

Tominaga said she understands the challenges that up-and-coming designers face when trying to break into the mainstream designer clothing market.

“I sought to create a venue where customers can shop from great talent and designers can meet customers face to face,” she said. “Loyal customers include stylists, store buyers, celebrities, and shoppers hungry for a great deal.”

Tominaga’s shopping events are held several times each year throughout Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Francisco.

At the Santa Monica event, the Geffen Playhouse “Girls Night Out” Lounge will be set up to entertain shoppers.

Featured are mini-makeovers, eyelash extensions by Thi Cosmetics, drinks from Tab Energy and Function Drinks, and music from DJ Pesce.

Tominaga said shoppers can find many items that are discounted between 40 and 80 percent.

“Whether you are a celebrity stylist looking for the latest and greatest fashions for your client, a boutique buyer hunting for next season’s line, or simply someone in need of a wardrobe re-vamp, there will be something for everyone,” Tominaga said. “Fashion Co-Op gives shoppers a chance to scoop up all of their finds at a discount.”
