The American Red Cross of Santa Monica is offering free disaster deployment training classes for those interested in volunteering for local and national disaster relief calls such as the recent Hurricanes Gustav and Ike.
The Red Cross of Santa Monica has fast-track training to provide in one day all the basic-level courses such as Shelter Management and Mass Care required to make participants qualified to be a disaster volunteer.
Fast-Track disaster training classes will be held at the Santa Monica Chapter from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, September 26th, and Thursday, October 2nd.
The one-hour prerequisite for all classes is “Introduction to Disaster,” which is found on-line at www.redcross.org/.
